In light of the current outbreak of COVID-19 and as the situation continues to evolve, we wanted to share the steps we are taking at Thomas Nicholas to continue to offer support and assistance to you during these uncertain times.

Difficulties in making mortgage payments due to time off work

As we all manage our way through these incredibly difficult times we have updated and wished to share with you the following links to the major banks/building societies online payment holiday information.

Please note that some lenders have confirmed payment holidays will not be granted to clients in arrears. It is absolutely imperative that you do not cancel your direct debit for your mortgage payment. The payment holiday will be processed by the lender directly.

Do take the opportunity to consider the timing of applying for a payment holiday. The maximum time they are granted for is 3 months.

Please also note that at this point in time, there remains uncertainty regarding scenarios where a client has a current rate due to expire – some lenders will not allow a Product Transfer to be processed if the client is on a Mortgage Holiday.

Therefore it may be best practice to complete a Product Transfer first then apply for a Holiday afterwards.

As always our team are on hand and able to advise and implement for you any amendments to your current rate. We have access to all of the major lenders existing borrower rates if your current product is due to expire within the next 4 months.

1. All mortgage account numbers for which you are seeking a payment holiday
2. Your full name (including any middle names)
3. Property address details for the mortgage number(s) provided
4. Please confirm if all your mortgage payments are up to date
5. How many months payment holiday are you looking for (1, 2 or 3)
6. From the start of which month would you like the payment holiday to commence




Have set up a dedicated email for customers to request a mortgage payment holiday of up to 3 months. Within the email please ensure you provide your mortgage account number and the best number for TSB to contact them:
